Gestures in Marriage - NikahExplorer
Apart from the big responsibilities and the immense plans and proposals that one has for their marriage in Islam and that both the husband and the wife carry out, there are also the small gestures that are important. These can be as small as the husband looking at the wife and the wife placing a loving hand on the husband’s cheek. THESE are the gestures that sometimes make a great difference in marriage, especially when couples are struggling in their everyday lives.
When you’re living with a completely different person, you need to understand their way of living. This does not mean changing your own way of living rather it means to align your way with theirs. It means doing something out of the ordinary to please your spouse and eventually please yourself.
Husbands and wives in Islam are encouraged to carry out little acts of kindness for each other which will sustain their marriage and the love they have for each other. There are couples who only believe in celebrating special days, birthdays or anniversaries. However, this is a soft approach towards marriage. If you want to keep your marriage alive little gestures from time to time are which will make that happen. You should give your wife a rose every week rather than a bouquet in a year. An everyday reminder is better than a yearly one! The gestures need not be big, but they DO need be meaningful. So bring about the loving gestures in your marriage and see it work miracles!
