My self-summary
As-salamu alaykum, I am the son of a retired Manufacturing Engineer from Trinidad & Tobago. I am striving to be an Investor and a local Imaam. I reverted to Islam on July 30th, 2013 and since then I attend various Islamic courses every week, practice reading Arabic Quran daily, and aiming for Imaam classes . I am a caring, sensitive, strong and athletic! I guess you can say I am a nerd and a jock.
My long term goals
Own my father's business or start my own company. Earn financial freedom so that I can live according to the Quran, no credit and things of that nature. I want to complete Umrah and Hajj as well as travel often to see other worlds land marks. Start a family and eventually raise a child or children and really be there every step of the way...
Things I'm good at and enjoy
I am good with my hands, soccer, track & field, gardening, cooking, cleaning, listening, and taking time off for recreation. I enjoy watching sports, reading, learning, and developing myself in all area of my life. I will like to start enjoying my time with the woman I get married to and become good at maintaining our marriage after learning about half my Dīn and why it is!
The first thing people notice about me
This is a hard question for me to answer because it depends a lot on where and in what context you meet me. At work you will notice how sharp I am. At the Masjid you will notice how pious I am. In the street you will notice how radically cool I am. And if it is the first time meeting me at sporting scene you will notice how competitive I am.
My family background and values
I grew up in a very cultured single parent home with my dad. He instilled in me worldly and spiritual values that I often receive compliments for up to this day. My mother and I became very close recently with in the last year thanks to Islam and I understand clearly now why Jannah lies under her feet. "Walk all over me girl"
What I love most about Islam
I love Islam because it is bringing out all my positives and is depleting all my negatives slowly in my life. I was always very spiritual before reverting but it has taken me to a whole new level of spirituality. Islamic knowledge has even crossed over into my everyday life and is educating and empowering me in every possible way.
Things I'm looking for in a partner
What is important to me is the quality of my partner. If you want a traditional Islamic marriage and stay at home, fine with me. If you want a modern Islamic marriage and work and drive that is fine with me. If you want a little of both traditional and modern Islamic marriage that is also fine with me. Race, looks, heritage and money means little to me. A family pedigree of cultured, wordly, & spiritual up bringing is.
