My self-summary
I grew up in a very family oriented home, and I want to insha’Allah continue that for my own children. It is said that if you educate a woman that you educate a nation. And bi’idnillah that is why I am involved in the community, attend Islamic classes and am learning Fusha (Qura’nic Arabic), so that I can practice that in my daily life and pass that on to my children and at least attempt to be the kind of mother that Allah (swt) bestowed upon me. I am also beginning a hifz program, and like to engage in creative writing especially poetry. I love to read mostly fiction, but some Islamic related books as well. Alhamduillah, I don’t listen to music, but I do watch some t.v. now and then and go to the movies sometimes. I usually watch sci-fi or action shows, because I feel that they are more “halal”, since they have none or very little sexual content. I love to learn (I’m a nerd at heart) mainly about Islam, but also about “secular” topic psychology, biology, chemistry. I believe that since Allah (swt) created everything all of these others topics is also like learning about Islam. I am always up to try new things. For example, I like to go out and eat different ethnic food, and then try to make them at home with my own twist or a healthier version.
My long term goals
I would like to eventually finish memorizing the Qur'an, get married, have children, and get a masters degree in either MPH of psychology.
Things I'm good at and enjoy
As mentioned above I like reading, writing and cooking.
My family background and values
I was raised in a religious household and would also like to raise my future children in such a household bi'idhnillah
What I love most about Islam
So many things. The way it is a way of life and not something you just do on Friday. I love that the more you learn about the more it make sense. I love that is has solution for all your problems, if you would just apply it I love the complexity and the simplicity of it. (a contradiction but it I love both aspects) That is all I can think of at this moment.
Things I'm looking for in a partner
For someone who wants to lead his family closer to Allah. Someone who is also shares my passion for gaining ‘ilm and applying it, so that he can pass it on to his wife and children. Someone who shares my goals in term of what I want for my children and at least tries to implement that by following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (saw) in all aspects of his life including family. Finally I would like some who has a sense of humor.
You should message me if
It is hard to describe yourself in such few words. I am a complex individual (as most people are) with many aspects. I have just chosen to highlight a few of them. This is not all that I am, and I hope that because of what I wrote I am not stereotyped in some box. Allah knows best So if you have any questions, or like what you read then let me know jazak Allah khayr for reading my profile
